Any prospective company/exporter, falling under any of the category, i.e. project exports or project construction items exports, should apply for enrolling as a member by filling up and submitting the prescribed membership application form.  On receipt of the requisite membership application, the Council will process the same under the appropriate category for approval by the Working Committee of the Council in line with the current NFTP of the Government of India

Here, it is important to note that before a member project exporter can undertake a project overseas as a prime contractor or as a sub contractor, their case has to be examined and approved by the Screening Committee  taking into account their technical, managerial and financial capabilities.  The Screening Committee, as a statutory body consists of  representatives from the industry, various government ministries/institutions like Reserve Bank of India/Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Ltd/EXIM Bank of India, besides Central Public Works Department.  If the need arises, the screening committee may invite specialists for better appraisal before granting approval for enabling them undertake overseas projects as a prime contractor or as a sub contractor
